To show support to the hair industry, President Arroyo has accepted the invitation of Hair Asia publisher and organizer Ms. Evelyn Alvaran Cruz to grace the 17th National Open Championship for Hairstyling and Makeup to be held on Monday, March 5, at the World Trade Center, Roxas Blvd. in Pasay City.

Ms. Cruz confirmed that the President will be attending the Gala Show that will culminate the day-long event. She will personally present a special recognition to the Vidal Sassoon Creative Team, who arrived yesterday, and the young stylists from Tokyo headed by Mr. Yasunori Matsumoto, during the affair as well as Hall of Fame awardee Gener Miranda, personal makeup artist and hairstylist to President Arroyo.

The annual nationwide competition is organized by Hair Asia, a recognized force in the Philippine beauty industry and has been a strong supporter of President Arroyo’s economic recovery program by spearheading initiatives to boost the image of the Philippine hair and beauty industry in international arenas.

The Hair Asia yearly event is the country’s most respected and credible competition for hairdressers and makeup artists looking to break into the big leagues. It showcases Ms. Cruz’s unwavering efforts to bring honor to the Philippines by continuously uplifting the country’s hair and beauty industry.
